Artist Statement
My work begins with family photos and heirlooms, and is brought to life through painting. I like to explore how portraiture can be conveyed in different mediums and depict emotions of relatability, nostalgia, childhood, growth, and change. I’m highly inspired by German expressionism and the Bay Area Figurative movement.
Greer Siegel is a visual 2D artist living and working in Portland, Oregon. Originally from the Bay Area in Northern California, she moved to Oregon in 2016 to pursue an art degree at Portland State University. She graduated with a BFA in Art Practices from PSU in 2021, and continues to live and work out of her home in Portland.
